The scoping phase of a project extends from the customer enquiry to the kick-off. We use our briefing tool to clarify the scope of the project and prepare a binding offer. We break the project down into individual elements so that nothing is overlooked.

In the third step, we create the visual design of the website, which is heavily dependent on the brand positioning. Using our design briefing tool, we gather information about the brand and customer preferences. Our design team then creates possible lines for the visual design, including specific designs for individual pages and for different devices.

Based on the visual design, we design modules, components and views in Figma, a widely used software. Our UI designs are available in various resolutions: Full-Fluid as well as at 375px, 768px, 1440px and occasionally 1800px. We also integrate interactions, animations and transitions, which we discuss with the client using Figma prototypes.

Once the website has been structured and the design of the modules defined, we focus on creating specific content, including headlines, texts, images, videos, graphics, SEO elements and translations.

Our website is part of a digital ecosystem that benefits from SaaS and tools. We identify integration opportunities in the prototyping and UX/UI phases. We evaluate tools and check the technical feasibility (proof of concept) based on user journeys. The goal: user-friendliness, cost efficiency and sustainable further development.

In this phase, we implement all modules, components and features based on UX/UI designs and the prototype. We use Drupal for large websites, Statamic for medium-sized websites and Webflow as the content management system for small websites. The hosting setup with test and production instances and the integration of third-party systems also take place in this phase.

We start publishing in the prototype phase, where pages are created and filled with sample content. In this phase, we transfer the final content from ‘Content Creation’ into the CMS, including texts, translations, edited images, SEO configuration and alt texts. During this process, adjustments are often made. For publishing and consequently for training the CMS, we offer a large self-service library of how-to videos that we make available to our customers.

In the staging environment, we can fine-tune the UI design and functionalities together with the customer and also fix content errors. We test the website on various devices and browsers and use Markup.io to record errors, which allows us to add comments directly in the browser. We differentiate between go-live-critical and non-go-live-critical issues.

If everything has been tested well, nothing stands in the way of the go-live. Nevertheless, it is the last and probably most important step. The go-live date is first set as the go-live window and then the go-live is defined on day X. The changeover of domains, DNS entries and other systems must be well prepared so that it runs smoothly.
