Our Design Workflow

Strong UX design doesn't happen by accident - it's the result of clear processes, co-creation and a deep understanding of the needs of our clients' customers. At Gridonic, we have spent years developing a design workflow that combines creativity with efficiency. The result: solutions that are visually inspiring, functionally convincing and perfectly tailored to our customers and their customers.

Why a structured process is crucial

Many people believe that design is pure intuition or a creative flash of inspiration. In reality, professional design is a controlled creative process. This is the only way to reliably translate complex requirements into clear, user-centered solutions. Our approach creates the best of both worlds: maximum design freedom and a framework for the necessary guidance.

1. research - find inspiration

The research phase is about tapping into as many sources of inspiration as possible. We look at which visual styles, modules and interaction patterns are currently exciting and analyze the use of typography, colors and the arrangement of elements. In doing so, we deliberately gather a wide range of impressions - from subtle details to complete design languages. From this diversity, we then select the approaches that best suit the brand and the objectives of the project.

2. ideation - bringing ideas to life

In the ideation phase, we translate the findings from the research phase into initial tangible ideas for the project. What particularly caught our eye is developed further and condensed into sketches, color schemes and motion approaches. We create moods and initial visual directions, sometimes already designing individual modules in Figma or testing interactions in tools such as After Effects. This results in various design lines, which we discuss and evaluate together with the client. This phase is highly iterative: through many loops, it becomes clearer step by step which approaches have the greatest potential and will be worked out in concrete terms in the screen design phase.

3. screen design - the vision becomes reality

In the screen design phase, the previously developed ideas are put into practice. The individual modules are worked out in detail and developed into a complete UI design for portrait and landscape views. Here, too, we work iteratively: step by step, we refine layouts, typography and interactions and regularly coordinate with the customer. The result is a consistent design system that is not only visually impressive, but also works smoothly in use.
